TALL TAILS OF THE TALL FAKERS
THE STORY SO FAR:
The Tall Fakers are the creation of Karl Hitchcock, who along with his son Callum started playing as a two piece in 2021. In 2022 he expanded the band to a 5 piece outfit, developing a set list of cover songs. These are a wide genre of music from pop to rock, which are well known but not often played by most other 'cover' bands in the area.
Following some very successful debut gigs at various festivals/charity events over the summer 2022, the band is now playing on a regular basis with gigs booked through 2024 and even into Christmas 2025.
BEHIND THE BAND

Check out the faces that make up The Tall Fakers:

KARL HITCHCOCK
Guitarist/Vocalist
Karl and his son Callum founded the Tall Fakers in early 2021. The Tall Fakers couldn’t have asked for a greater talent than that of Karl and Callum. Over a period of a year Karl gathered together the rest of the group to create a covers band which will appeal to a wide cross section of audiences .

CALLUM HITCHCOCK
Lead Guitar
Callum is truly a rising star. As our lead guitarist his skills go well beyond that of his age.

RAY MONDO
Lead Singer/Keyboards
Ray is a very experienced international vocalist who has performed professionally in numerous countries. His powerful vocals make the venue rock, while his versatility on the keyboards brings an added a depth to many of the songs.

LARRY DAY
Bass Guitars/Vocals
Larry was the last to join the band to complete the line up (until Paul replaced our old drummer Steve!). Larry started playing bass in the late 1970s with Soft Phenomena ( with whom he still records - and still has the same bass guitar - among many!)
Lead Singer
Max Johnson has been with Tall Fakers from the start. As the Lead Singer, Max Johnson takes on quite a lot of responsibility, from fine-tuning the musical arrangements to assisting other members with perfecting performances.

Pete Morgan
Drummer
Pete joined us in August 2024 when our previous drummer Paul had been denied a renewal on his visa, thrown in at the deep end with only one rehearsal before two gigs over the August bank holiday weekend.
